Larry has a Bachelor of Arts in music from CSU Fresno and a Master of Arts in Composition from
California Institute of the Arts. He began accordion study in San Jose at age 9 and went on to compete
in solo, duet, and quartet categories as part of the Northern California Accordion Association. Later, he
was an accordionist and vocalist in several Bay Area pop-rock bands. While at California Institute of
the Arts he co-wrote and performed on accordion in an opera. Locally, he has performed at numerous
restaurants, fundraisers, ArtHop, weddings, and private parties. His repertoire encompasses a wide
range of styles including French Musette, Italian standards, Latin boleros, standards from the Great
American Songbook, Country ballads, and modern pop and rock.
Larry began piano studies at Reedley College, then continued his studies at Fresno City College, CSU
Fresno, and finally California Institute of the Arts. He has previous studio teaching experience at
Cynthia Merrill School of Performing Arts. Interested students from age 6 through adult, beginners
through early intermediate are welcome.
